The Egerton is a 15th Century Country Inn adjacent to St Mary’s Church in the beautiful village of Astbury.
Family run under the personal supervision of Allen and Grace Smith who are proud of their reputation for friendly service, comfort and excellent food. Freshly prepared food is served every day including vegetarian dishes, Lunch and Dinner in our cosy restaurant. Bar meals and snacks are also available and you can enjoy real Ale from Robinsons, or a glass of fine wine.
The Egerton has six comfortable bedrooms (all en-suite) all with colour T.V., Radio, Tea and Coffee making facilities. The decor is in character with the style of the building and maintains a relaxed atmosphere.
Astbury on the edge of the
National Peak Park is a perfect stopping off point for a wide variety of local attractions.
Little Moreton Hall
, possibly the oldest timber framed Manor House is a couple of minutes away, as is the beautiful
Astbury Golf Course.
Close by are
Astbury Mere,
Brereton Country Park,
Biddulph Grange Gardens,and
Jodrell Bank Telescope with its “hands on” Science Centre. Shopping is available in the market towns of
Congleton and
Sandbach
whilst a little further away are the big shopping malls of
Hanley and
Handforth Dean.
Stoke on Trent is only 20 minutes away with its famous visitors centres and pottery museum. For those who like walking there are many footpaths and country walks including the
Gritstone Trail and the
Salt Line and of course the
canalside towpath. At the Egerton you have the perfect base to explore and enjoy the regions of Cheshire and North Staffordshire with Derbyshire just a few minutes drive away.
The Macclesfield canal runs quite close and boats can be hired from the
Heritage Canal Basin.
