This page is going to be dedicated to the writers of Rye who have lived in the town worked in the Town written about the Town and still live here. I will attempt to give a potted history where appropriate a bibliography and where possible a photograph.
I will start with the well known authors and continue with the not quite so well known although in my view all people who write should have equal status.
There has also been a lot of work done on the History of Rye and I have listed some of the foremost writers on this subject.
Leopold Vidler
Kenneth Clark
