Alaister Russell continued to dominate the Youths age
group winning the National Championships over 3000m in a time of 8mins
52.39secs, a time which also ranked him top in Scotland. Douglas Frame appeared
to be getting better with age, setting a personal best of 14mins 06.3secs to
finish 5th in the rankings. Douglas Slater continued to make steady progress
under George Brown, finishing 6th and 4th in the 10m and 200m respectively.
Again, it was disappointing to note that no females reached the ranking lists
this year.
