There was only one title collected in 1991, Graeme Ferguson winning the Indoor District Shot Putt title with a throw of 12m 96cm. That being said, it was encouraging to see a good number of athletes appear in the rankings, even more encouraging to see a number of youngsters appearing. Promising youngster, Julian Love, topped the rankings in the Junior Boys event with a time of 24.73, surely a prospect for the future. Graeme Ferguson was also beginning to show his versatility on the field, finishing 12th in the Shot Putt, 17th in the Discus and 9th in the Hammer. He was joined in the Shot Putt by another promising youngster Mahuil Muqit who finished 7th in the rankings. In the women's rankings, Elaine Quinn appeared for the first time, finishing 16th in the 100m hurdles and 10th in the Heptathlon, an event which she finished 17th in the British Isles Multi-Event Championships. In the younger age-groups, Nicola MacNamara finished 7th in the 100m with a time of 13.7secs and 10th in the 200m with a time of 28.9secs. The most pleasing sight was Alaister Russell re-appearing in the rankings, finishing 7th in the 500m and 14th in the 3000m, proving that he can mix it with the top Seniors.
