The year saw a slight improvement with ten athletes making the rankings. In the younger age groups it was encouraging to see a couple of new names in Kimberly Canning and Nicola McGhee. Kimberly finished 6th and 17th in the 200m and 800m respectively, finishing third in the District Indoor Championships over 800m, with Nicola finishing 16th in the 70m Hurdles. Having failed to appear in the rankings last year Colin McMaster made an impressive return, ranking 8th in the Under 15s High Jump but more impressively wining the National and District Titles. Julian Love continued to shine winning the National 200m title and finishing third in the 100m. He finished the season ranked 10th and 5th in the 100m and 200m. In the same age group, Darran Muir made his first appearance ranking 4th in the 3000m with a time of 9mins 19.15secs, which also placed him third in the National Championships. Graeme Ferguson once again continued his steady progression finishing 3rd in the Shot Putt, 7th in the Discus and 10th in the Hammer. I the Senior events Alaister Russell appeared yet again with Alan Ramage making his first appearance for four years. In the Vets scene, Eddie Stewart was making a name for himself finishing 9th in the 200m, 4th in the 400m and 8th in the 800m. Andy Brown once again won the Over 60s National Cross Country Championships.
