The final stage of the manufacture is attaching the keys to the frame. This is done using goat, or stronger antelope leather for the larger xylophones. The leather is tied around the posts protruding from the frame ends, then tied around all of the keys, also partially suspending the keys above the frame at the same time. The next image shows this more clearly.
