DOES YOUR DECKING TIMBER PASS THE 4 STAGE CHECKLIST?

The Outdoor Deck Company are the sole importers of treated Grade 1 Southern Yellow Pine DSS (dense structural select) from the Cox Lumber Co in the USA.

THE FIRST TREATMENT:
The timber is kiln dried to extract moisture from the timber. This ensures maximum absorption of the preservative in stage 2 (a dry sponge will soak up more than a wet sponge).

THE SECOND TREATMENT:
The timber is pressure treated with preservative. As the preservative permeates throughout the wood, water that seeps through the holes created by screws and nails will not cause any rot in the centre of the board.

THE THIRD TREATMENT:
After any preservative treatment the timber fibres are saturated with excess moisture. The treated timber is then re-dried to remove any excess preservative and 'fix' the preservative into the timber but more importantly to pre-shrink the boards (wet boards expand) in a controlled environment. This dramatically reduces any potential warping, twisting, splitting etc., and giving you a ready-to-use timber, which isn't going to shrink once in place.

THE GUARANTEE:
We give a 40-year guarantee against any form of structural deterioration, i.e.
Wet rot, dry rot and insect decay, even with permanent ground and water contact.
