Brief History

The Kingston & Elmbridge Junior Snorkellers Club was formed over twenty-five years ago. It was originally affiliated to the National Snorkellers Club (N.S.C.), which was a division of the British Sub Aqua Club (B.S.A.C.).

In 1991, B.S.A.C. replaced the N.S.C. in the running of snorkelling clubs around the country. We are now regulated by the British Sub Aqua Club, who set the standards that we adhere to, with the aim of increasing the knowledge of the sport to others. Our club has approximately thirty members including instructors, and meets every Tuesday at Walton Swimming Pool between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

We are members of Littleton Sailing Club, who maintain a lake specifically for divers and snorkellers, so the open water experience can be carried out safely.

Finally, we are members of the Y.H.A. and arrange supervised diving weekends away for the older members of the club, to Lulworth Cove in Dorset. Here the members can experience snorkelling in the sea.
