Alexa Justice - Snorkel Instructor
Hi my name is Alexa Justice and I was born on the 23rd January 1984 in Ashford where I have lived for 23 years.
I went to school at Ashford C of E Primary School, then onto Thamesmead Secondary School in Shepperton where I gained 10 GCSEs. Then to Strodes College in Egham where I studied for 3 years. I gained 3 A/levels, 2 A/S levels and 1 AVCE. I then went onto applying for 6 universities, not expecting to get in when I was offered a place at St Marys College University in Twickenham to study a BA in Primary Teaching. I graduated last July with an honours degree in teaching. I started my teaching career last September in a school in Windsor teaching year 2. I really enjoyed teaching there but it had to come to an end so I moved half a mile down the road to a Catholic First School and became a Reception teacher taking on 45 children with another teacher!
When I am not studying hard, I like to dry slope ski and snowboard, play ice hockey for a team, ice skate, go out for meals, socialise with friends and shop til I drop!! I also enjoy my holidays. I have been to many different places in the world including New York, Jamaica, South Africa and Greece.
I joined the club when I was 8 years old because my mum and dad brought my brother down and I wouldnt let him start until I could!!
I have worked my way through the club gaining many different qualifications, including Advanced (Open Water) Snorkel Lifesaver and Snorkel Instructor. I am currently working towards Open Water Snorkel Instructor and Dive Marshall. I remember 1 group where I was taught by Darren (a past instructor) and I was the only girl, so everyone called me princess!! This was good because it was like having 6 big brothers!!
I started teaching snorkelling in 2000 and my main speciality is teaching the new children as they start every year. Its really nice to see the ones that I taught at the start, progress themselves through the club and are now in the top group.
I love teaching snorkelling and actually training and gaining more qualifications when time allows. I really enjoy weekends away to Lulworth and days in Littleton but only when its warm!!
My aspirations for the future are to continue teaching snorkelling and gain more qualifications and hopefully have a good career in teaching.
Thats about all from me, thanks for reading!!
