ELECTION MICROGRAPHS OF OPERCULAR SPINE: This page includes descriptions and photographs of the Opercular spine relating to the 'Hard' component of the venom delivery system of the Weeverfish, Trachinus vipera.
LIGHT MICROGRAPHS OF THE VENOM GLAND: A page concerned with the 'Soft' component of the venom delivery system of Trachinus vipera. Includes photograph and descriptions with magnification from x100 - x1000.
DISCUSSION: This page is a description of the entire venom delivery system, giving thoughts and ideas behind the purpose of various structure seen both from Light and Electron Microscopy findings.
