Day 8 April 22nd 1998
Day 8
Builth wells to Llanfyllin
Distance 58 miles
The landlady had breakfast ready by 08:20 and not 08:45 as was supposed to be the earliest possible, as it was I left Builth Wells just after 09:00 and set off up hill for some way. The rain held off for most of the day but the views where shrouded in mist except for the occasional sunny spell.
At one pint on the ride all the sheep in the field where running towards me and bleating whether my bright coat attracted them I not sure but I have not had a similar experience before.
Just on top of the hill before Newtown Nigel a picture framer stop by me as I was Taking off my waterproof and accompanied me into Newtown.
At both greasy spoon tea stops someone gave me sponsor money which has not happened in more up market tea shops!!
On entering Llanfyllin more rain arrived so I called it a day and book into the local Hotel.
Significant parts of the run today where flattish with the wind behind a welcome change.
