2020: Bishop Marcus has published a series of new appointments for priests
in the Diocese to take effect over the summer and the autumn. As well as

St John Mary Vianney parish, north Leeds, to become
Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham from Sept 2020. Fr Christopher Willis is now Episcopal Vicar for Religious for the
Diocese of Leeds. Fr Matthew Habron to be created Honorary
Canon of Leeds Cathedral and also Honorary Ecumenical Canon of Wakefield
Cathedral. Clergy moves in Leeds Catholic Diocese
2019: Fr Sean Crawley leaving St Austin’s, Wakefield, in Sept 2019 to
become Bishop’s Secretary and assistant priest at Leeds Cathedral and will be
replaced by Fr Christopher Willis (currently at Valladolid) for one year. Fr Matthew Habron to become parish priest
and Dean of Leeds Cathedral. Mgr Philip Moger will be parish priest of
St John Vianney, Leeds, and Fr Marc Homsey to become chaplain of Leeds Universities. Fr Simon Lodge moving from Pontefract to Huddersfield (Holy
Redeemer), replacing Canon Ian Smith, who will be moving to St Wilfrid’s, Ripon. Canon Tim Wiley moving from St John Vianney
Parish, Leeds, to St Joseph’s, Pontefract. Clergy moves in Leeds Catholic Diocese
2018: There are three priests retiring, Mgr Donal
Lucey (Harrogate); Fr James Levy (Harrogate); Canon
Philip Fitzgerald (Brighouse). New appointments: Canon John Aveyard from Dewsbury to Castleford; Canon James
Callaghan from St William’s, Bradford to St. Robert’s, Harrogate; Fr Michael Doody from Castleford to St Augustine’s, Leeds; Fr
Jonathan Hart from St Augustine’s to Dewsbury; Fr Michael Hughes from St
Anthony’s, Beeston, Leeds to St William’s Bradford; Fr Timothy Whitwell
(assistant) to be P.P. of St Anthony’s, Leeds; Fr Anthony Rosso
from St Patrick’s, Huddersfield to St Joseph’s Bradford (assistant); Fr
