The pictures on this page illustrate the changes that have taken place to the bow up to 20 February 1999.

Whilst you may have to look closely, you should be able to make out the rubbing strakes that have been added and the bow thruster tube.

This picture shows the flare to the leading edge of the bowthruster tube. I picked this idea from an American thruster installation sheet. The idea I believe is to deflect water and objects that would otherwise hit the rearward side of the tube when under way. Jim expects to put slim vertical strips at the tube ends to restrict debris entering the tube.

This shows the inside view of the bowthruster with the weedhatch in place. Above it, you can just make out the lower edge of the forward locker and behind it the  low bulkhead.
