- Yorkshire History Quarterly - A journal for local history, archaeology, family history and heritage topics, dealing only with material relevant to the ancient County of Yorkshire's three ridings.
- Lancashire History Quarterly - A journal for local history, archaeology, family history and heritage topics, dealing only with material relevant to the ancient County Palatine of Lancashire.
- Northern Vernacular Buildings -
A journal to be published twice a year devoted to surveys, news and articles connected with historic/vernacular buildings in the northern counties of England and their environs.
Whether you are an individual doing a bit of house detective(ing) - tracing your own house origins; photographing/recording just for a hobby; or a member of a group recording insides and outsides of buildings in a conservation area; or carrying out an in-depth study of a village, town, farm or a landscape area; writing an archaeological report - or just interested generally in old buildings and their settings or family connections - there will be something in this journal for you. Space for your own work to be published, to present to a wider audience, will be found in the forthcoming issues of N.V.B. We hope to concentrate on the houses of ordinary folk and work-a-day buildings as well as the smaller 'mansions' of the region. For example - Inns, farmhouses, barns and farm building ranges, watermills, small industrial buildings, follies, 'Yeomans' houses and almost forgotten ancient minor fortified Halls and manor houses.
A5. col card front, 60 pages, glossy paper, mono photos, maps, diagrams.
The journals exist to publish new works by new and established writers, articles that are often not considered suitable for the ‘glossies’ or the academic journals are always welcome. Phil Hudson the editor hopes to encourage students and local enthusiasts to write about the history of their local areas, villages, buildings, families, agriculture, old industries, mills etc. A booklet 'Writing for Lancashire or Yorkshire History' has been prepared as an aid to those wishing to contribute.
If you are interested and need to discuss anything do feel free to write in, phone or email Phil.
