John Goodwin is my Great Grandfather, I am fairly sure this is him age 15, but I have not yet proved it. |
I have not been able to find his birth or marriage yet to confirm his parents names. His mother appears |
to have remarried presumably at least 7 years previously (- Betsy) - I wonder where her husband was on |
census night? |
Note that Black Horse must mean something like Black Horse yard - there were lots of census entries there. |
I have been told that John and Rebecca Goodwin later ran the Black Horse pub at Heage, now I have |
this census record I wonder if it is true or not. |

There were lots of other families living in Black Horse including more Bowmers (eg Herbert Bowmer age 40) |

There were more Bowmers and a Bowmar in Heage. |
