Rescue & Rehoming

Our rescue and rehoming for rabbits and guinea pigs was established in January 2005, since then over 500 unwanted, abandoned and neglected rabbits and guinea pigs have been handed in, with most going on to find loving homes with people who are willing to commit to their needs long term. Over 200 animals were taken in during 2007 and there are always 40+ looking for homes at any one time. Animals arrive in varying degrees of health, some are so badly neglected they cannot be saved. Most health problems are completely preventable, so my aim is to try and promote a better understanding of their dietary and welfare needs, as well as to help prospective owners consider whether they can meet those needs BEFORE they take animals on.
Running costs of the centre are huge, with essential veterinary care being the biggest expense. All animals intended to live within a pair or group are neutered as I have a strict no breeding policy - there are simply too many animals and not enough good homes. My rescue centre is not a registered charity and relies solely on the proceeds of boarding, adoption fee's and donations; I make no profit or wage from my animals, who arrive 365 days a year hoping for a second chance.
If you would like any more information about boarding, adoption or handing an animal in for rehoming, or if you need advice about an existing pet, please contact me on either of the phone numbers on left, I will be pleased to help.
