The first record I have of a William Wells in the village is in 1755. He married twice.

First he married Mary {Nye?} and she died in 1773. He then married Elisabeth Hills on April 5th 1774. He died after a fall from his horse in 1778 and Elisabeth then married Simeon Brissenden in 1779.
