Sea Angling with the Baited Spoon

J. Garrad ("Seangler")

Publisher: Herbert Jenkins

Sea Angling with the Baited Spoon
Dates from 1960. An account of Garrad's experiments in the 1920s and thirties. He tried many different types and sizes of spoon, mainly fishing for flounders in and around Portsmouth harbour. The book is packed full of detailed observations - Garrad often recounts specific incidents to illustrate and back up his theories. He explains how to locate 'flounder tracks' and how to troll along them with the current. There are twenty black & white photos mainly of the various spoons used in the experiments.
