'Destroyer' Khorne Rhino

Run for your lives!

About the Model

This demented Rhino is the result of a collaboration between myself and Jason Kentell (that's one of my unfortunate Guardsmen legging it!). J first took the Rhino and extended it with card to make it longer, and also made it open topped so his Berserkers could leap out easily. He also removed the side exhausts and attached them to the back, as well as adding extra lights and some mean-looking blades to the front. When the time came to paint the Rhino, we decided it should be a Destroyer, but the blades didn't really seem to be enough....

Making the Claws

I had the idea of making two huge claws to go on the sides of the Rhino, but I couldn't think how to make them brutal enough. Inspiration finally came in the form of two Chaos Dreadnought conversion beamers, which were suitably hefty and adorned with pipes. To these were added two pairs of two lasguns from a Chimera, cut down slighty to form a piece with a ball joint at each end. Onto the ball at the end of the arm I then attached various scimitar and scythe blades to make the claws themselves. Various pieces of wire and sprue were then used to attach the claws to the tank. (I'll try to get a photo done with a better angle on the claws.)

Using the Model

Hah. Something with hideously low armour values, crammed with Berserkers, that looks that nasty? Rarely survives more than two turns... :(
