Airfix V1.00 by Majere AirFix is available from http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~majere/index.html Disclaimer I don't guaruntee AirFix will work. If it blows up your PC, it's not my fault, or Microsoft's, or Elecbyte's, or for that matter, that of the '97 Denver Broncos. Terms of use Permission is given to do what you please with AirFix. Just don't sell it without asking me, and credit me if you use or distribute it. Credits AirFix is written in Microsoft Visual Basic 5 by Majere. What does it do? ---------------- AirFix automatically updates .air files from version 2000.01.01 of MUGEN to version 2000.06.27 Specifically, it changes the following .AIR file entries: *culled from incompat2.txt by elecbyte* Old Changes ---- ------- 5100 Split into 5100, 5160 5101 Split into 5101, 5161 5105 Changed to 5170 5106 Changed to 5171 5051 Exchanged with 5060 5060 Exchanged with 5051 5150 Changed to 5140 5155 Changed to 5150 *end culled bit* How do I use it? ---------------- Simply run the setup program to install AirFix. After running AirFix, press the 'fix airfile button' and select the airfile you want to fix with the file requester. You'll need to press OK on a few status messages on the way, too. What happens to my file? ------------------------ Airfix overwrites the old .air file with the fixed one. It also saves a backup copy called .air.bak in case of disaster. If you're really paranoid, back up your files before letting airfix loose on them. What about airfiles from versions of MUGEN before 2000.01.01? ------------------------------------------------------------- Airfix just applies the changes listed above. If these changes are valid, it'll work. If not, it won't. Why's the damn install file so big? ---------------------------------- Sorry. VB5 is a bit hungry with all those nice graphical requesters. Just take comfort in that nice 'open file' box .. :P Limitations / known bugs ------------------------ Airfix does not recognise comments (";"). It can be fooled if you've used them to 'comment out' states with the numbers it's meant to change. It also doesn't copy Clsn boxes if it has to copy the first element of states 5100 or 5101 to 5160 or 5161- this shouldn't cause any serious trouble other than a brief invulnerable period when bouncing on the floor. Additionally, it tends to lop off sprite-flipping and colour-adding entries when working with the first element of these states. (But I've never seen a character that used them there anyway!) Last thought- beware action no. 9999. I use it as a dummy state, so if you have it, renumber it before using Airfix. Sorry. Majere, 21 July 2000- but only just :)
