Blue Haze: A Three-Month Update

Well, it's seems only yesterday that Mayor Bhatti cut the ribbon declaring Blue Haze Arts & Hobby Crafts open! What a wonderful day that was, the shop was crowded all day long. It took a very long time to come down from Cloud Nine!

The Bucks examiner included an article a couple of months after the opening, which proved to be very useful in spreading the word even further.

The shop has become a regular stop for a lot of folks and the range of stock is widening as time goes by. The Knitting range has just been increased now to include, Patons Whisper and Fairytale 4 ply. Christmas is only round the corner for crafters too, so stock is being ordered now with that time of year in mind. Still on the list of things which need to be ordered are knitting patterns, rubber stamps, stencils, buttons and zips, to name but a few.

The first workshop was held upstairs on Wednesday 20th July and will now be held regularly on Wednesday afternoons as a Bring Your Own, just book a space and bring along whatever project you have on the go or take the opportunity to start a new one! There was card making, jewellery making, embroidery and cross-stitch all happening and from the laughter heard coming from upstairs everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Whilst on the subject of workshops, Christina Wilson, who is a talented textile artist, will be holding her first workshop with Blue Haze on Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th August, this will include: Creative Hand Embroidery, Silk Paper Making, Embroidery Stitches, Machine Embroidery and Melting Moments using allsorts of everyday items which we would normally throw away, for instance, gift wrap & crisp bags. The price will be £15/person for a full day from 10am to 4pm with ¾ to 1 hour for lunch, please pre-book as this is proving to be very popular! All you need to bring with you are some needles & scissors! It is hoped that Christina's Workshops will become a regular feature with different subjects being covered over the next few months.

On Thursday 15th September a card making course has been booked, using 3D-Decoupage & Motif designs by Margaret Sherry from Heritage Paper Crafts, this will be between 10am & 4pm and promises to be a fun day for all who attend.

As soon as there is enough time in the day, this website will be further developed to incorporate an on-line ordering service.

Well, here's to the next three months, watch this space!
