Steve Peacham of East Yorkshire has been piking for 4 years, this is his personal best pike of 28lb 5oz. He thinks pike are the most misunderstood of all fish and he hopes one day that all anglers will appreciate pike as a species, including match men.
This weight of this pike, caught by Richard Thynne of North Yorkshire is unknown. As when Richard was fishing the water in Yorkshire he only had scales that read to 22lb, as a result when he weighed the pike his scales bottomed out. Unfortunately there was no one else fishing at the time, so he couldn't even borrow a set of scales.
This pike was caught by Julian Rochfort from Belleek, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The Pike was caught from a water in Donegal. It weighed in at an impressive 42lb, it took a full size herring legered with a 3oz lead and took a half an hour to land. Julian has been fishing for 29 years and not surprising this is his personal best pike. The weighing of this fish was witnessed by 4 other people one whom was a French tourist who videoed the whole event from another boat.

Jason with a nicely coloured Musky from Lake Ontario, Canada.
Musky caught by Jason an American, who is living in England at the moment. He does most of his fishing in Canada, with this musky coming from Lake Ontario. It was caught in June 2001 on a Chartreuse coloured Buctail, while speed trolling. On a day that also produced dozens of pike but none were as big as the pike on this page. So Jason is going to give piking a try while he's living here, hoping to get into some big pike, like the ones below.

Some Nice Catches from the Lake District
Robb Allen with Gord; the piking pirate; Burton, with a pike of 21lb on Windermere. Robb Allen with a 22lb 8oz pike from Windermere.
These two twenties were caught under the guidance of the Gord Burton. At 22lb 8oz on the left and 21lb on the right, both these fish came from Windermere on float fished static deadbait, in around 20 feet of water.

Robb Allen with a 23lb pike from Windermere. Robb Allen with a 24lb pike from Windermere.
Following the information gained from the trips with Gord, Robb produced these results on future trips. On the left a nice fish of 23lb caught in darkness on Windermere, don't worry the blood on the fish isn't the pike's its Robb's. This fish was caught on a float fished static lamprey deadbait, in 25 feet of water. The pike on the right is Robb's personal best to date at 24lb, this too came from Windermere and was caught on a Bull Dawg.

On following trips Robb used the information he gained on Lake Windermere help his boat partners catch the fish below. On the left is Peter Harrison, with his personal best pike of 27lb in 25 feet of water, on Lake Windermere, this was caught on static float fished lamprey deadbait. On the right is Ian Hathaway with a pike of 20lb 8oz. This was caught on static float fished herring in 20 feet of water, again on Lake Windermere.

This 15lb 12oz pike was caught by Gus (Magnus Casey) from Wishaw, Lanarkshire. The pike was Caught on Loch Ken, using legered dead bait. This fish is a new personal best, and certainly made his day.

Yes this isn't a catch, but it is the sort of view you can expect if you get to a water for first light, or when you look out of your bivvy on a winters morning.

On the left is Mark Leathwood (General Secretary of the Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain) who recently visited South East Northumberland region to give a slide show. On the right is Vicky Leathwood (Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain Products Manager) with a nice pike. Proving women tend to catch big fish.

Neil Shortland (Pike Anglers Club of Great Britain Products Manager) who also gave a slide show with Mark Leathwood. With a 30lb+ pike from lake Menteith in Scotland.
