After much negotiation, Staines Ladies decided to accommodate ex-National League side as part of our pre-season preparation. Naturally they were honoured. We held them at 2-2 after 40 minutes and we were unlucky not to have scored several more. In the final short 'game' coach Seamus experimented with players in different positions in preparation for the season ahead and with a number of players in unusual positions Oxford were able to slot 2 goals past us. We tried our best! A confident performance from us but we will put the blame on the roasting hot day for the tired legs in the last 10 minutes. We had Oxford worried though!
