Semi-final of England HA Trophy V Shrewsbury.

Staines Ladies 1st XI 4 (Anna Truman 2, Kerry Maskery, Sarah Chandler), Shrewsbury 3

Staines met Shrewsbury on Sunday 4th April in the semi-final of the England HA Trophy. Staines took a commanding 2-0 lead by half time with goals from Anna Truman and Kerry Maskery and looked set to dominate the second half. Shrewsbury however thought otherwise and were soon back in the game and took the lead 3-2. Within 30 seconds of Shrewsbury third goal Staines out paced the Shrewsbury defence and Sarah Chandler scored a fantastic goal to bring the game level. Extra time was played for golden goal and Anna Truman became the heroine of Staines when she scored to put Staines in the final on 22nd May. A record for Staines as this is the first time they have reached the final of this national competition. They will play Tunbridge Wells in the final on 22nd May at Chelmsford Hockey Club

On 17th and 18th April the Ladies 1st XI take part in the South League Play-offs for promotion at Surrey University Varsity & Sports Centre, off Egerton Road, Guildford. The qualifiers are Staines, Richmond, Oxford Hawks, Eastbourne and either Aldershot & Farnham or Trojans 2nd XI (Hants) with the top two teams going through to South Division 2.
