More pictures from Les received 27th June 2006 pictured at Biggin Hill Airshow early 1970's two Foden lorries destined for British Army.
I scanned the following from a paper dated March 15th 1921 when steamers still held sway and running costs were measured in cwt per miles.
For you young ones that is how far a steam traction lorry would travel on one hundredweight of coal (112 lbs or 50.80kg) There was various
claims between 12 and 16 miles per hundredweight. Notice the telephone numbers Sandbach 45 and 46.
And this one from Motor Transport May 25th 1946 when Foden still manufactured quality lorries.

I have attended shows all over the country and never seen this Foden before.
The very last Foden ever to be produced, donated to the British Commercial Museum at Leyland where this picture was taken.

John Salisbury kindly sent me these pictures of his S21 8 wheeler ex Blue Circle now in the livery of Warrington Funfair
family, Silcock's. Previous owner thought to be another showman from Manchester Gilbert Chadwick, John would like to
trace anyone with information on this Foden registration number UGO 676F John is currently undertaking restoration
of this lorry, it has a factory fitted Leyland engine. I hope John keeps us upto date with this project.
Bob Pott sent me this picture and info on this fine Foden lorry. The Foden was new to Claridge and Co in 1941 and was the actual
tractor used on the works publicty photos for that year. T.T Boughton bought it in the mid fifties, at some stage the cab was knocked off
and replaced with an FG cab. Bob bought it derilict about 12 years ago and restored it to the fine state it is in now, she is powered by
a Gardner 5LW fitted with super low gearbox. Bob many thanks for the picture and information.

I took this picture at Paul Marshall's garage at Hoghton near Preston, Paul had adapted the step frame from a curtainsider.
