Lucy and Steves 1972 Bus Oscar.
Oscar is a late 72 Bus, so he has the late looks but is
tax exempt as he was 'born' on the 20th September 1972 and runs a 1600cc
engine. Oscar has had a new interior installed with a rock
and roll bed.
Lucy and Steves 1966 Splitscreen bus, Joey.
Joey is a UK RHD 66 ex-Microbus. He arrived on 6th March 2004, pics below.
July 2005 update - We're now around 80% of our way through Joey's
restoration. If you want to see more pictures and waffle about what we've
done to him, see 'Update on Joey' under the 'VW Storys' section in the
forums.
Lucys 1971 Bug, Bertie.
I've had Bertie since September 2000, and he was my first car and
taught me to drive, he was 'born' on 13th April 1971 and has a 1300cc engine
to power him along. He failed his MOT in May 2003, so is currently waiting
for us to get round to restoring him, but in the mean time looking quite
sorry for himself, but making a rather useful shed!. When finished, I hope
he will look something like the 'selecta' picture below.
1963 Splitscreen camper - Ted
The 63 Split was bought off a crazy 71yr old bloke called 'Ted' in Australia in Spring 2005 (and my dad then named the bus after him), who was starting his music career (I'm using the phrase 'career' lightly) at 71. We have an album he did called 'Chookshed Ted' and his 'hit' goes on about putting chicken poop on his head to grow hair... he's like an Australian Wurzel! Anyway, he had the bus for 7-12yrs (depending on which day you talked to him on), and for most of that time, it had sat under a car port type thing waiting for him to get round to restoring it. It's a 63 (ish) microbus, and has very little in the way of rust.
1973 Bay camper - Skippy
My dad has named the 73 Bay 'Skippy' (we now have a Skippy and a Joey... I'm trying not to name the Bug 'Roo'). It was bought off the same bloke in Australia (Ted). Apparently it's a 'Sopru' conversion. It's got a rock and roll bed, a hob, a fridge etc. It's very solid, and I could hardly find any rust!
1958 Beetle - Bella
The 1958 Beetle has now been christened Bella. It was owned by a bloke called Mark from Liverpool (it's a small world!) who'd moved out to Australia, where we bought it in Spring 2005 to ship back. It has a few wrong bits on it, like the rear lights and front indicators (shouldn't have any because it has semaphores). We want her to end up looking like the selecta picture below.
