Background
Bryn Cottage, St Wenn is a self catering, character conversion cottage, occupying the upper ground floor of a traditional Cornish stone farm building. Situated in the peaceful rolling countryside 8 miles inland from Padstow, it has bright, stunning views across open fields and farmland to the nearby hamlet of St. Wenn.
The cosy and comfortably furnished cottage is one of several similarly converted properties and benefits from its own private garden and off road parking. Steps lead up to a private patio with views out across the countryside.
Accommodation
Through the glazed entrance is a generous hallway, off which lies the beamed lounge/dining room, with wide-screen colour television, video and music centre. A new galley-style kitchen (refitted for 2008) with oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine is divided from the living area by the character stone and slate open fireplace.
The cottage sleeps 4 people in comfort with one bedroom having a king-sized bed, clock radio and hairdryer, and the other being twin-bedded. It is heated by night storage heaters throughout. The spacious bathroom, which has recently been totally refurbished, has a bath with electric shower.
Electricity, heating, bedding and bath towels are provided included in the cottage rental. Beach towels and fuel for the open fire are not included. A travel cot (excluding bedding) is available upon request. Click here for inventory.
Location
The cottage lies in an ideal position for touring Cornwall, being within easy reach of both the North and South coasts and their many magnificent beaches. It is within 10 minutes of both the A30 and A39 and the far west coast at Land's End is an easy day trip.
The attractive nearby town of St. Columb Major (3½ miles) has all the essential facilities, including a supermarket, banks, post-office, chemist and pubs.
Local Attractions
The popular Eden Project is only 10 miles away, while the seaside locations of Padstow and Newquay are both less than 15 minutes by car. The bustling towns of Wadebridge, Bodmin and Truro are just 9, 13 and 19 miles respectively. The Tate Gallery and Hepworth Museum of St. Ives, the Lost Gardens of Helligan and the Cornish Maritime Museum at Falmouth are just a few examples of the magnificent attractions worth a visit in the area.
