Lions Ladies Fundraising, 2003-2004
The Lions Ladies have had a very active year supporting Lion President Robert in his fund raising efforts for the RUH Cardiac rehabilitation unit. It really wasn't a hardship as all the events were fun, and the ladies welcomed the opportunity of socialising with each other.
The first event of Lion Robert's year was a cheese and wine party on a lovely August day, this was held at Lion Robert's home. £170 was raised.
In October, the Ladies enjoyed a Skincare demonstration by Decleor staff from Jolly's in Bath, at the Fosseway Country club. With lots of laughter at those brave enough to be used as 'models'. £270 was raised.
November had us all thinking of Christmas when we had a demonstration at Lion President's home by the Pampered Chef, all the ladies indulged on the lovely food prepared by the chef. £66.75 was raised.
The final fundraiser was a hair demonstration by James of the Cavern hairstylist in Bath, at the Fosseway Country Club, with a variety of models, advice about hair care given by James, and lots of swapping of hair-raising tales by the lions ladies. £157.50 was raised, with a further £30 expected from 'James'.
At the Handover dinner the Lions Ladies were very proud to be able to present a cheque to the Lion President, Robert Briggs, for his charity, to round off his year of office.
