On the afternoon of the 18th January 2003 RPG S.Q.G.S. Ruling Council members Marc Young and John G Lighterness embarked on the groups first Expedition of Visitation.
It was with a certain amount of caution and trepidation that they approached their quarry. Would they be met with fear and suspicion? Would they be able to gather enough proof to prove that they were visiting an RPG Shop? Would the owner be conducive to their quest?
The quarry in question was Black Lion Games, of 90 Buccleuch Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9NH. It is currently the only RPG Shop in Edinburgh. But would it meet the exacting standards of the RPG S.Q.G.S.?
Marc and John entered the shop. They took some time to peruse the shelves, which were bulging with RPG materials. Both found items they were eager to purchase. For Marc it was Harnmaster 2nd Edition. For John the Hand of Steel supplement for the G.U.R.P.S. WWII game. They approached the owner of the establishment in order to complete the purchase of the items. It was only after this, that the subject of the RPG S.Q.G.S. was broached.
At first the owner, Liam O'Connor , was startled, and surprised to learn of the Group's existence. However, once we explained our aims, he was happy to be the recipient of the Group's first Certificate of Visitation. In fact, so taken was he by the noble aims of the Group, he petitioned to become a member.
