Family History

Welcome to our family history

To know who you are, you must know where you came from ...

With the explosion of the Internet, distance between relatives and friends is no longer an issue. From the farthest corners of the world, you can keep in touch and share information as it becomes available.

There are a number of surnames in this family web, some links going back to the early 1700's. This is an ongoing project, concentrating on families and their history.

Nancy with grandchildren I would like to thank the numerous people - particularly Nancy Summers, who took the time and effort to put all her family knowledge on paper, Susan Thomson who provided reams of history to refer to, and all others who have helped with the information gathered here.

Hopefully you can work your way through time to see how and where you may fit into the picture. In the main, I have not used the line or linear charts as that gets too messy and sometimes omits useful information.
Have added a couple of trees and timelines to refer to. The timelines have historic events to indicate the period history which may be relevant.

Marriage as a starting point

... without the union, there would be no family ...

I have used the marriage as a starting point for each family with a little history on the name and family. This is ongoing project so new information will be added periodically. There is a seperate page for each family and if you click on the children (some will be linked) you will be taken to their family, and so on.

Note: If you click on any of the links listed on the left of the page, you will be taken to the earliest record of that particular family.

Some of the children will have links, so click on that to get to their family and so on. If you have information (particularly the history) which may be useful to the site please contact me below.
