In this packed book, Jim has tried to emphasise the essentials. All
types of transport are included. There are railway timetables for the
whole country (kept up to date by the ‘Updates’
site) and details are provided of virtually every bus from every main
town and tourist attraction. These include the bus number (most
important, as you probably will not be able to read the destination of
the bus, only the number painted on the side), the price for each type
of bus - V.I.P., 1st or 2nd class air-conditioned, and ordinary - the
travelling time, and the frequency of the service. As in all Jim
Rickman's books, there are plenty of maps, including at least one for
every main town. These concentrate on what everyone needs to know when
arriving somewhere unfamiliar. For example, they make clear how to find
the various hotels, the bus and railway stations, the tourist
information centre, the post office and the telephone office. A full
price range of accommodation is covered. Only a few hostels and hotels
are picked for particular recommendation, but they are all there with
prices listed and locations marked on the maps, to allow travellers to
make their own choice. Attractions are similarly covered, with a wealth
of detailed information about sights and experiences which should not
be missed. In short, all the most valuable information in a compact
form, printed on bible-weight paper for ease of carrying, clearly set
out and easy to access.
