THE POEMS PREVIEW Preacher John's poems BUY the book of poems - "The Thoughts of Preacher John" Some past Preacher John gigs: - played an open mic at "The Pigeons" pub in the east end of London in '98, genius promoters at the pub set him up in competition with a big screen TV screening Man.U. vs Chelsea followed by 5-Nations Rugby. No really. Escaped along with co-performers Andy Grafham and Mad Matt Westwood without being lynched. - played live outside the Reading Festival on Fri & Sat the 27th and 28th August '99 to promote the Readipop '99 compilation CD, which carries Preacher John's track "Yesterday". This got him namechecked in the NME and Steve Lamacq's Evening Session on Radio 1! And PREACHER JOHN's full-on punk track "Don't Got No" was on the Radio1 page! for a while... - played a support slot on Two-Beers-For-Price-of-One-Night at a nightclub in La Paz, B.C.S. Mexico in '03... despite the borrowed guitar (and being electrocuted in the lips by the mic) rocked out enough that a guy in the front row gave him a beer... - played outside the Reading festival on Fri & Sat 27th and 28th August '04 to promote the website and received two cans of beer on the Friday, smiles and hugs from girls on both days and an intermittent barrage of abuse from filthy little chavs on the Saturday. - played at the Henley "Come Together" Free Festival in the "Open Mic" tent to cheerful audiences every year since '04 and plans to play it again in '07 when the festy will be held on September 8th and 9th	Above: 30/6/2000 Preacher John@"Bohemian Night" an open mic night held every Thurs. at the 3B's Bar in Reading (England, UK) , there's live acoustic music and performance poetry. Free entry, too!
