Written after watching the pigs cut down trees with protestors up them on an underground video show of the Newbury bypass protests back in '?95?...
(Who watches the watchmen? We do!)
and reading about the wrist breaking by the coppers using the new "quick/restraint" cuffs... Grrrr

in the hills and fields of england
the wrists of young and old alike are
being broken by the quick-cuffs of well trained policemen
and brightly coloured protestors are cut down from the trees
by mercenary climbers
like an early crop
and you are the happy recipient
of a steady diet of dis and mis-information from a vast beureaucratic machine fed by your beautiful money

wake up baby - someone's screwing you

wake up baby - they'll ram it into you

television - the mogadon of the masses
35 pounds a week and a TV licence is just enough
to keep the plebs in their armchairs and
the rulers in their penthouse suites
hell, why riot anyway
it'll all come around again
when the bastards get back to the top of the heap

don't bother to live
just get up every day and go to work
and then come home and sit and rot

'til six in the morning with wild eyed E-ed up nutters and don't go leaping around in the streets and fields at night either -
'cos they don't like that
no you just stay right where you are
and you listen to the sound that's being heard all around the world -
its' the sound of a boot
stamping on a human face for all eternity
but don't you bother now
