The Legend of King Arthur

This is a picture of The Kings Knot.

Could this area be the site of the legendary King Arthurs Camelot ?

Two sources of evidence, reportedly from the 7th century AD, both mention Arthur in connection with a Kingdom known as Manann or Manau.
The Kingdom of Manann stretched from the River Forth southwards to Slamanann. Around 570 AD this ancient British Kingdom was ruled by Aidan Mac Gabran, Arthur,s father.
Within this Kingdom, ( Manann/Manau ), there was an imposing Roman fortress with the Roman name of "Ad Vallum". The names CAMELOT and CAMELON were later attached to this fortress.
The fortress has now disappeared but the name of a nearby village on the outskirts of Falkirk is CAMELON.

The Kings Knot, an impressive earthwork structure standing at the foot of the rock on which Stirling Castle stands, (pictured above), gives another clue. Today it is known as The Kings Knot, but the name Round Table was attached to it as far back as 1370 AD. It was added to and altered by the Stuart Monarchs in later centuries but nevertheless existed before their time.

To give some idea of the size of the structure a man walking his golden retreiver dog can be seen in the middle of the picture.
