In 1974 Deprivo Devianté was asked to co-produce a British TV show. The show he developed was revolutionary for its time. It was not a show about the cops, but the robbers, the criminals who ran the illegal rackets.

The first season consisted of 12 episodes, of which only three were ever aired. The show was cancelled after episode three due to mounting pressure from the Independent Television Commission. They objected to the positive way the criminals were being depicted. And to the negative light being aimed at the police.

With the cancellation of the show, most of the scripts and pre-production materials were destroyed. However one script, survived in the possession of Deprivo Devianté. This was the script for episode IV, of Hard Lads, which was entitled "Fags".

It is this script, which I have revised and polished, which we are currently working from.
