Introduction

Anyone can design a web page using a simple text editor. This guide is an introduction to elementary HTML (hypertext markup language)

By Raouf Allim

This guide will teach you the basics of writing a web page, using nothing more than a text editor. Although there are a good number of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML editors available, a basic understanding of HTML is invaluable in debugging pages that are not working properly. Learning some HTML is best done before indulging in the luxury of a good HTML editor.

You will now need to start your text editor and then follow the guide page by page. Read the Essential concepts section first, and then follow the sequence of lessons that start with the Basic Skeleton section.
