TOSEININ
-WARNING! Recommended for mature readers! So if you're under 18, go look
at something else. Prudes can naff off too. NOT that it's porn, for crying
out loud, but some people are easily disturbed...
Issue
1 - Last Tango in Tokyo ...one of Toseinin's ongoing duties is running
a sex shop - whose revenues go in the gang's coffers - today her working
day is interrupted...
NEW! Issue 2 - Mile High Karaoke ...Toseinin
has to deal with her cantankerous great-grandfather - before she sets out
on a long journey - inevitably, just starting her travels proves... interesting...
in more ways than one...
NEW! Issue 3 - Some of Them Want to
...Toseinin arrives in London to seek out an old lover... and helps a new
acquaintance haul out some trash... ↑ Home: Top of page & Navigation |
Beautiful and terrible.
Cunning like a fox.
Strong like a sumo.
Bigger than Buffy.
Badder than Jackie Brown.
Curvy, kinky and kickass.
Click here to skip intro and go straight to the issues
Daughter of an American/Japanese yakuza
and his Tongan wife, Toseinin has grown up as a fourth generation gangster
- working alongside her father - to become a skilled enforcer... Consistently
distrusted and underestimated by the head of the House of Yamata - due to
her sex and gaijin bloodlines, Toseinin has been increasingly sidelined
from the core of the yakuza business, but circumstances sometimes force
the gang to employ her in "more sensitive" operations... Unluckily for the
House of Yamata there are some lines she will not cross and some things
she will not allow to pass - even if it runs counter to the gang's interests...
Ultimately, Toseinin and her father bring the House of Yamata's fury down
on them...
Each mini-comic
issue is 8 pages long in A5 format. There were three issues completed, before other projects took over!

"FROM FATHER TO
SON" AN UNFINISHED GRAPHIC NOVEL BY JON OVERTON, ART BY BEN GILBERT:
This was planned as the 4 issue story of a man who finds himself trapped in the
shadow of his violent, vicious father. This story was begun in 1990 and was never
finished, partly due to the "disappearance" of Ben Gilbert - artist on the first
2 issues...
For some time I had planned to finish FFTS, I even went
so far as to round off the 2nd issue with text... Three years after I first archived
it, I still could not motivate myself to complete it and finally figured out why...
the story I'd mapped out 11 years before wasn't really telling the tale I was
after, there was a lot of "peripheral" stuff obscuring the main issue and truth
be told I didn't think the peripheral stuff was worth the candle... The script
I wrote pinched bits from my life to that point (family, northern blokes, crap
clubs, getting off your face, falling over etc.) put them through some smoke and
mirrors, which weakened them, and cobbled them together with a 'murder on the
moors' side-plot... Plus, 'cos we were just 18 and 19 respectively - the portrayal
of pub fights and girlfriends lacked the kind of... immediacy (to be kind)...
that I'd write now, so I'd have felt compelled to re-work the entire thing from
scratch...
In the end I settled on archiving this here just
to showcase Ben's art - some great pages here, here
(left page) and here (right page) - and to point
you at this poem which says everything
worth saying in FFTS in just a few lines... If you're still curious then GO! Read!
